SeedRadar.net › The cannabis seeds database!

Welcome to Seed Radar

Logo Welcome to Seed Radar, a community-driven project born from passion and necessity. When RQS acquired SeedFinder.eu in 2023 they started a slow but constant process to destroy the database that thousands of growers relied upon. But is when they remove a great part of the information of the database, hidding it in a redesigned website when we knew we had to act. The cannabis community lost years of collected knowledge, strain reviews and breeder data overnight. Seed Radar was created to preserve and rebuild what was lost, ensuring that this valuable information remains accessible to the cannabis community forever. We are committed to maintaining the open-source spirit that made the original SeedFinder so valuable, free from commercial interests that prioritize profit over community knowledge. Our Mission: Preserve cannabis knowledge for the community, by the community.

Project Progress & Roadmap

Current Status: We are actively working to rebuild and improve upon what was lost. Our team is systematically retrieving data from Archive.org's Wayback Machine, carefully reconstructing the original database that contained years of community-contributed strain information, reviews, and genetic data.

Phase 1: Data Recovery & Import (In Progress)

Archive.org Data Mining: Extracting strain databases, breeder information, and user reviews from archived SeedFinder pages
Database Reconstruction: Rebuilding the relational database structure to preserve genetic lineages and cross-references
Content Validation: Filtering out AI-generated content and spam entries that polluted the database in its final years
Read-Only Access: Initial launch with browse-only functionality while we rebuild the interactive features • Torrent creation: Creating a torrent of the database for easy distribution and backup, to be sure that the data will be available for the community forever.

Phase 2: Feature Reconstruction (Planned)

Interactive Maps: Rebuilding the climate zone mapping and strain geography features
Strain Comparisons: Restoring the strain-vs-strain comparison tools
Advanced Search: Implementing the detailed search and filtering system
Review System: Recreating the community review and rating platform
Genetic Lineage: Rebuilding the family tree and hybrid mapping system

Phase 3: Community Platform (Future)

API Access Reactivation: We will reactivate the JSON API access for developers and researchers
Improved Lineage/Genealogy View: Enhanced genetic family tree visualization and hybrid mapping system
Open Registration: Community accounts will be open to all growers and enthusiasts
Quality Control: Implementing systems to prevent AI spam and maintain data integrity
Community Moderation: Trusted community members helping maintain quality standards
Enhanced Features: New tools and features based on community feedback and modern web standards

Want to help? This is a volunteer-driven project. If you have technical skills, archived data, or want to contribute to the community, please reach out. Together, we can rebuild something even better than what was lost.

About SeedFinder (What it used to be)

SeedFinder.eu was once a comprehensive platform that collected and standardized information about thousands of cannabis varieties. It offered an interface for cannabis breeders, seedbanks, cultivation and hemp-forums, communities, growers and cannabis-enthusiasts all around the world. With the help of the SeedFinder System - specially made for these purposes - it was able to collect all important information about individual strains in a compact and searchable way. It enabled users to find tips and tricks for cultivation and growth that were scattered all around the web, including pictures, profiles and opinions. The community helped expand and advance individual strain descriptions with their knowledge. What made it special: SeedFinder was not a shop, it did not sell any cannabis seeds and was not affiliated with any specific breeder or shop. Sadly, this independence was lost when it was acquired and commercialized.
